In the past 48 hours, over 300 illegal migrants have attempted to cross the Polish-Belarusian border, resulting in two Polish soldiers being hospitalised due to aggressive actions by the migrants.
This information was conveyed by Senior Warrant Officer of the Border Guard, Michał Bura, as reported by RMF FM.
On the Podlaskie section of the Polish-Belarusian border, 307 individuals tried to cross illegally. Additionally, three more attempts were recorded in the Nadbużański section of the Border Guard.

Bura highlighted that the migrants, displaying aggressive behaviour, repeatedly attacked Polish border guards from behind the technical barrier. These confrontations led to injuries for two soldiers, who were subsequently hospitalised.
Border Guard officers provided medical assistance to four migrants and apprehended four so-called “couriers” who were aiding the illegal entrants.
According to the Podlaskie Border Guard unit, over 6,000 illegal border crossing attempts have been recorded since the beginning of May, compared to over 5,300 attempts in April.
A recent incident involved a Polish border guard being injured by a knife attack from a foreigner attempting to breach the barrier at the border post in the village of Dubicze Cerkiewne. This incident prompted Prime Minister Donald Tusk to announce the reinstatement of a buffer zone along the border with Belarus.
On 29 May, the Ministry of Interior and Administration of Poland released a draft regulation that temporarily bans access to several areas within the border zone with Belarus.
