One of New York’s finest tenor sax players took to the stage at Brussels’ premier Jazz venue, The Music Village for a one off gig on Friday.

Despite having not so long stepped off an eight hour flight Ray Blue gave a great performance, wowing a completely packed house.

Backed by three superb local musicians he kept his audience enthralled and entertained with a repertoire clearly born in New York’s 42nd Street.

Ray Blue has a majestic presence…when playing, his sense of purpose is obvious. It’s one thing to be a good composer, it’s another to be a great performer. Ray Blue’s got the whole package – Jean Szlamowicz, Jazz Hot, Down Beat.

After two shows in Brussels Ray headed off for seven gigs in Germany, and one-offs in Luxembourg and France.

Ray will be back at the Music Village in October playing two nights – dates to be confirmed: check out his website for details of these and further shows.
