The Single European Sky has been and still is the EU's dream. But the reality is that today’s performance of the air traffic management (ATM) network does not serve airspace users or the passengers in the way it should. The impact of airspace inefficiencies for the travelling public and airspace users is not acceptable.
The European Commission established a “Wise Persons Group” on the future of the Single European Sky (SES) to produce recommendations for the direction that European ATM should take, in order to deliver better performance and better services while taking into account the continuous growth of air traffic.
