Kashmiri community in Belgium calls for release of detained leader Muhammed Yaseen Malik

Members and supporters of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF Belgium) held a vigil outside the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday, calling for the release of party chairman Muhammed Yaseen Malik, currently in detention on charges relating to a 1990 attack on Indian Air Force personnel.

Yaseen Malik personally espouses a peaceful solution to the ongoing struggle for independence for Jammu Kashmir.

JKLF represents the largest and most active political faction within the Kashmiri community in Belgium.
