Poland's ruling Law & Justice party lead polls ahead of October elections

Poland’s ruling nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party continues to command the highest support of any political grouping ahead of next month's parliamentary elections, according to a poll published on Thursday (Sept 19th). 

A poll by Kantar conducted for the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper on (September 13-17th) showed the PiS-led coalition on 43% support. 

Its main rival, Civic Coalition, which includes the Civic Platform (PO) party, was at 30%, the leftist bloc Lewica on 11% with trailing the field PSL/Kukiz’15 5%. 

Poland, the EU's largest post-communist member state, will hold elections for its lower and upper houses of parliament on October 13th after 4 years of PiS rule.
