Coronavirus deaths in Spain show slight increase as Sanchez prepares to ease restrictions

The number of daily fatalities from coronavirus reported in Spain rose on Monday to 331, up from 288 the previous day, the health ministry said.

As Prime Minister Sanchez prepares to relax restrictions from this weekend, all eyes will be on Spain, as well as other hard-hit countries such as Belgium and Italy which are both preparing to allow certain businesses to resume their activities from May 4th.

Spain's overall coronavirus death toll stands at 23,521 at the time of writing. The total number of diagnosed cases also rose slightly to 209,465 from 207,634 the day before.
