Chinese SU-30 fighters buzz Taiwan's Air Identification Zone.
Chinese fighter aircraft have been reported "buzzing" Taiwan on Wednesday and Thursday, the island nation's defence minister has reported. SU-30 fighters and Y-8 transport aircraft - capable of deploying paratroops - have been entering south-west Taiwan's Air Identification Zone, Reuters reports.
The aircraft were intercepted by Taiwanese Air Force.
This comes as China has been carrying out large-scale military exercises on its east coast.
China has never ruled out military action as a means to gain control of Taiwan, and has been ramping up it's threats in recent months.
