An apparent Islamic fundamentalist Tunisian knifeman has been shot dead by police officers after female police worker in the Paris suburb of Rambouillet.

He was reportedly shouting "Allahu Akhbar" before he was shot by her colleagues.

The 49-year-old mother-of-two who was going about her work in the main had her throat cut.

The administrative agent had recently returned from her lunch break and had "popped out of the station to change her parking disc on her car" when she was pounced on by the attacker in the lobby.
