A fresh shooting incident occurred in Anderlecht overnight, with around 15 bullets fired at a residential building. According to reports from local broadcaster BX1, which have been confirmed by the Brussels public prosecutor’s office, there were no casualties.
The attack took place at approximately 2 a.m. on Kliniekstraat, near Clemenceau metro station. Witnesses and initial forensic assessments indicate that the house sustained multiple bullet impacts. Additionally, a Molotov cocktail was reportedly thrown at the property, though it remains unclear whether it caused any damage or fire.
Authorities have not yet determined the identity of the perpetrator(s) or the motive behind the attack. It is also uncertain whether the incident is linked to previous shootings in Anderlecht, including those at Sint-Guidoplein, Clemenceau metro station, and the Peterbos district.
Since the beginning of this month, at least two people have been killed and three injured in a series of shootings in Anderlecht, which police believe are connected to drug-related violence. The latest attack adds to concerns over escalating criminal activity in the Brussels municipality, prompting calls for increased security measures and a more robust law enforcement response.
The Brussels public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to determine whether the attack is part of an ongoing territorial dispute within the criminal underworld.
