On Thursday February 23rd he addressed the European Parliament’s Joint committee on Foreign Affairs in Brussels, where he spoke passionately about the murder of Alexei Navalny.
He explained why the murder, which he described as “cold-blooded and premeditated” happened:
“His vision of a normal, democratic and peaceful Russia was successfully competing with Putin’s rule by intimidation and fear.”
He added, “it is definitely no accident that this murder happened on the day of the opening of the Munich Security conference.”
He concluded by calling on the free world to not recognise Putin as the legitimate ruler of Russia for the next Presidential term following the “elections” of 15–17th March.
