Cannes, a name synonymous with luxury and the iconic film festival, has long drawn the attention of the world’s elite.

However, as well as the glitz and glamour of cinema, Cannes plays host to a different kind of prestigious event – the Cannes Yachting Festival (CYF). This gathering has become one of the most significant yachting exhibitions globally, attracting enthusiasts, industry leaders, and emerging yacht manufacturers from around the world.

The Cannes Yachting Festival, unlike its cinematic counterpart, is the epicentre for the boating and yachting fraternity.

Each year, thousands descend upon the scenic French Riviera to witness the latest innovations and technological advances in the yacht industry.

For those invested in the maritime world, this festival represents a crucial opportunity to network, promote their brand, and discover new market trends. It’s a must-attend event for anyone serious about yachting.

Fabbro Yachts: A Rising Star from Turkey

Among the participants in this year’s CYF is Fabbro Yachts, a Turkish-based yacht manufacturer making its debut with its first model – a 45-foot yacht.

Speaking with Alper Kundak, an engineer and architect behind the brand, it’s clear that Fabbro Yachts is a company with ambitious goals. Alper co-founded the company with his brother, both leveraging their expertise to bring their visions of luxury yachts to life.

“Fabbro Yachts started about two years ago,” Alper explains. “The first year was dedicated to designing and engineering, and now we’re seeing the fruits of our labour.” The company’s first 45-foot model is currently under production, with hulls numbered 11 and 12 already in progress. However, Fabbro’s ambitions extend far beyond the 45-footer.

“We’re now producing the mould for a 35-foot model and plan to launch a 60-foot yacht next year,” Alper adds.

This rapid growth and expansion indicate the company’s desire to keep up with the fast-paced yacht market. The team also has a 35-metre steel and aluminium yacht under construction, expected to launch within a year.

Expanding Internationally

While still relatively new, Fabbro Yachts has already begun to make its mark on the international stage. The company recently opened an office in Miami and has opened discussions with a view to expanding into Dubai. These moves are part of Fabbro’s strategy to establish itself as a leading name in the global yacht industry.

Alper acknowledges the importance of festivals like Cannes in propelling Fabbro Yachts forward: “Festivals like the Cannes Yachting Festival are vital for us. They provide exposure to potential customers and distributors. This is our first major event, and we’re excited to showcase our yachts to the world.”

The company’s presence at the festival marks the start of an ambitious journey. After Cannes, Fabbro will head to the Genoa Boat Show, another significant yachting event, and they are already planning to attend further exhibitions in the coming year.

The Significance of Cannes Yachting Festival

The Cannes Yachting Festival is one of the most important events on the yachting calendar, particularly for those in the sub-24-metre yacht market.

This event provides a vital platform for emerging companies like Fabbro Yachts to gain recognition. It also gives established brands the opportunity to present their latest models and innovations.

The festival, which spans six days, attracts a diverse range of participants from across the globe, offering a unique blend of luxury, business, and innovation.

The Cannes Yachting Festival is not only a showcase for yachts but also a critical space for business development. Alper notes that these events are where serious deals are made, and brand recognition is built: “We want our name to be known alongside the biggest yacht brands in the world. Participating in these festivals is key to achieving that.”

Looking Ahead

The future looks bright for Fabbro Yachts. Their clear focus on design, engineering, and expansion into key international markets indicates a company poised for success.

Their debut model has already garnered significant attention, and with new models on the horizon, it’s only a matter of time before Fabbro Yachts becomes a familiar name in the global yacht community.

Alper’s enthusiasm is evident as he reflects on the journey so far: “It’s been a fast-paced couple of years. We don’t want to fall behind; we want to be at the forefront of this race. We’re working hard to ensure we remain competitive and continue to grow.”

As Fabbro Yachts continues its journey, festivals like the Cannes Yachting Festival will play an essential role in shaping the future of the company. With plans for larger models and international expansion, Fabbro is positioning itself to become a key player in the yacht industry. Alper and his team are eager to return to Cannes next year, with even bigger boats and more ambitious goals.

For now, all eyes are on Fabbro Yachts and their journey from the Turkish coastline to the global stage, where they hope to make waves for years to come.
