A disturbing new shooting incident unfolded in the Vorst district of Brussels on Monday night around 9 p.m., as captured in footage revealing an attempted abduction gone awry. The perpetrators remain at large.

The new shooting occurred at approximately 9 p.m. in the Hoogte Honderd neighborhood of Vorst, according to confirmation from the South Police Zone (Anderlecht/Vorst/Sint-Gillis).

Three masked individuals arrived in a black Lexus and attempted to abduct a man waiting at a bus stop located at Victor Rousseaulaan 10.

Footage depicts the assailants assaulting the victim, with gunfire erupting, resulting in the man being struck in the legs.

“I heard gunfire, but initially didn’t comprehend the gravity of the situation,” recounted a witness residing opposite the bus stop.

“The driver of the Lexus wore a monkey mask. It seemed like there were three shots fired.”

The police arrived swiftly, and an ambulance transported the injured individual to the hospital. All indications point towards a settling of scores.

The precise circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

The local police of the Brussels South zone (Anderlecht/Sint-Gillis/Vorst) declined to provide immediate comment, deferring inquiries to the Brussels Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will issue further statements in due course.

Brussels has experienced heightened unrest in recent days, marked by several shooting incidents in Sint-Gillis, Anderlecht, Schaarbeek, and Brussels City.
