Oleksiy Danilov and Martin Yeger discussed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation and directions for its further deepening, as well as exchanging views on the security situation in global and regional dimensions.
Oleksiy Danilov congratulated Martin Yeger on his appointment and expressed his gratitude for Germany’s comprehensive support to Ukraine on its way to victory over the Russian terrorist state. According to the Secretary of the National Security Council, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the position of the German side has changed qualitatively, and today Germany “cooperates with our country to the maximum”, in particular, in the provision of weapons and military equipment.
According to Mr. Danilov, Germany’s participation in the post-war transformation of Ukraine is extremely relevant. “Already now it would be appropriate and timely to choose economic sectors and start big work,” he said, emphasizing, in particular, cooperation in the field of energy, digitalization, and military industry.
Oleksiy Danilov also noted the need to preserve the unity of Europe and the importance of formulating a vision by the civilized world, “how to turn what is today called Russia into a territory that will not encroach on other countries.”
In his turn, Martin Yeger emphasized that among his key tasks in office are “helping Ukraine to win”, as well as the development of the German-Ukrainian strategic partnership. “Ukraine is already today a partner that influences the development of the EU,” said Mr. Ambassador.
Martin Yeger expressed his readiness to contribute to the deepening of bilateral economic cooperation and assured of Germany’s readiness to continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in its struggle.
