Herve Breuil: 70 Year Old French Election Candidate Brutally Attacked & Hospitalised by Far-Left Thugs in Saint Etienne

As any police officer, or indeed anybody with experience of political campaigning on the streets of any city will testify, the far-left are far less tolerant, and far more violent, than the far-right.

The 70 year old politician was handing out election flyers at the time, it is reported that as a result of the attack he suffered a stroke, and has been hospitalised.

A young RN activist present with associates who witnessed the attack told news outlet Francebleu it was “a co-ordinated assault” and the culprits had been scouting out the area beforehand.

The unnamed activist said that when they were leaving, around 11:30am, they were confronted by four masked individuals, all dressed in black, coming towards them and then pushing and threatening them.

Eyewitnesses stated that the assault occurred while the candidate was interacting with supporters. The attacker approached the candidate under the pretense of engaging in conversation before physically assaulting them.

Security personnel quickly intervened, restraining the assailant and ensuring the candidate’s safety.

Following the incident, the candidate received medical attention. Although the injuries were not life-threatening, the assault has prompted a broader discussion on the escalating tensions and potential dangers faced by political figures, particularly those with polarising views.

National Rally condemned the attack, characterising it as an affront to democratic principles and the right to free speech.

They called for increased security measures to protect all candidates, regardless of their political affiliations, to ensure a safe and fair election process.

The incident has also drawn reactions from other political parties and leaders across the spectrum. Many expressed solidarity with the assaulted candidate, denouncing the use of violence in any form.

They reiterated the importance of upholding democratic values and ensuring that political discourse remains peaceful and respectful.

The authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motives behind the assault and to identify any potential links to broader political movements or extremist groups.

The assailant is currently in police custody and faces charges related to the attack. Law enforcement agencies are also reviewing security protocols at political events to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Political analysts suggest that this attack could have implications for the election campaign, arguing that such incidents might influence public perception and voter sentiment, potentially affecting the outcome of the election.

The assault highlights the challenges faced by candidates who espouse controversial or divisive viewpoints, as well as the broader issue of political violence in contemporary society.

Public response to the attack has been mixed.

While many citizens have expressed outrage and concern over the safety of political candidates, others have jumped on the incident seemingly blaming Herve Breuil and his party’s policies.

This reflects the deep divisions within French society and the contentious nature of the current political landscape.

The incident, as reported by Reuters, has generated significant media attention and has raised questions about the security and safety of political candidates.
