Lithuanian & Ukrainian presidents to meet in Kyiv to discuss NATO membership

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet in Kyiv today to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine and the possibility of NATO membership for Ukraine.

President Nauseda will reaffirm Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, has consistently urged the international community to do more to support Ukraine in its efforts to defend itself against Russian aggression.

President Zelensky is expected to say that Ukraine is committed to reform and to achieving NATO membership. He has previously said that the war in Ukraine is a struggle for the future of Europe and that all European countries must do more to support Ukraine in its time of need.

The two presidents are also expected to discuss the need for further economic and political reform in Ukraine, and the importance of building closer ties between Ukraine and the European Union.
