Russian propaganda has recently highlighted bridges in Germany that could potentially be targeted by Russia in response to any attacks on the Kerch Bridge in occupied Crimea.
Dmitry Kiselyov, a Russian propagandist, identified four bridges in Germany during the “Vesti Nedeli” program, suggesting they could be destroyed in retaliation.
Kiselyov’s statements were direct and alarming. He stated, “Despite the sophistication of our interlocutors, images of bridges in Germany are not floating in their heads.
“This relatively small country does not have bridges as long as the Crimean one. But there is still something to look at through a missile sight… It will be a pity, but what to do?
“Our Crimean Bridge is not a pity for them.”
The bridges mentioned by Kiselyov were the Fehmarnsund and Rügen bridges in northern Germany, linking the mainland to the islands of Fehmarn and Rügen respectively.
Additionally, he mentioned the Hohenzollern Railway Bridge in Cologne and the Magdeburg Water Bridge, connecting two canals across the Elbe River, approximately 150 km from Berlin.
Kiselyov suggested that these bridges could be targeted because there are no equivalents in length in Germany, stating, “We will have to pay attention to other bridges in Germany to make up for the corresponding loss in running meters.”
These comments came in response to recent discussions among senior military officials in Germany about potentially using German-made “Taurus” missiles to target Russian assets, including the Kerch Bridge in Crimea.
The interception of these discussions by Russia was labelled by the German Minister of Defence, Boris Pistorius, as an element of information warfare.

General Ingo Gerhardt, Commander of the German Air Force, directed his aides to prepare a presentation for the defence minister outlining Germany’s capabilities in supplying “Taurus” missiles to Ukraine.
The presentation also explored potential applications of these missiles, including targeting ammunition depots and the strategically significant Crimean Bridge.
