Blasphemy Laws Exploited by Pakistani Intelligence Services in Occupied Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jamil Maqsood, President Foreign Affairs Committee of the United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP), has strongly rejected Pakistan’s dogmatic policies in its occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

An incident that occurred in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has affected womenfolk in the wider region of the region of South Asia. People from many different walks of life have expressed their opinions, outrage and concern on such violent incidents perpetrated against women in any part of the world.

Asma Batool is a young student activist living in a far flung remote area of the Pakistani occupied Jammu and Kashmir, often referred to as Azad Jammu and Kashmir. But practically that region is governed by Pakistani state institutions via proxies in both political and security systems.

What was her crime? Calling Allah as equivalent to Indian Gods of Ram, Baghwan has become blasphemous.

She was incarcerated for having posted inappropriate words for Muslim’s Allah.

In that circumstance a sane mind may ask if people of other languages would describe Allah or God in their native languages would it be blasphemous too?

The rampant use of blasphemy laws in Pakistan has a been stigmatising phenomenon for too long.

Before it has been used against religious and ethnic groups in Pakistan and since the youth has stood against exploitational policies imposed by Pakistan this weapon has been widely adopted by the local police that acts under the command and control of Inspector General of Police who happens to be a Pakistani federal Police officer who acts to safeguard Pakistani interests in the region.

Jamil Maqsood, who was recently elected as President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the United Kashmir People’s National Party that is a popular resistant and resilient Political Party of the region has repeatedly challenged Pakistan’s position and nefarious policies that are effecting local habitat.

From environmental protection to social sector infrastructure, from unemployment and deforestation in the region the United Kashmir People’s National Party has touched all those issues at all international forums.

According to research conducted by the Party almost 300 people have gone missing from various areas of the so called Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The record of Pakistan’s on human rights is really bleak and despite tall claims of the government authorities it is gradually declining. Pakistan must abide by the international conventions on civil and political rights and those who perpetuate Human Rights violations must booked under local and international law.

Jamil Maqsood reiterated to high light these issues and violations of the Human Rights at forthcoming session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva,

Condemning witch hunting of the peaceful political activists are criminal acts committed by the state of Pakistan.

The President of the Foreign Affairs Committee has also called upon Government of Pakistan, the sub- Committee on Human rights and Sub-Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament to take cognisance of this worsening situation, raising also the case of Raja Mudassar.

He has  pressured the European Parliament to follow up its historical Resolution adopted on 24th May 2007 in Strasbourg France and has also tweeted and mentioned all international organisations calling on them to use their influence to get both activists released from illegal detention of Pakistan.

Pakistan has assumed so called responsibilities to security and defence of these peripheries but practically the entire population is hostage of those policies.

Anyone who speaks about Pakistani military land grabbing in the area is subject to involuntary disappearances, illegal detention and solitary confinement. There is no international media outlet or the international NGOs access to report and record such incidents of  violations of Human rights except individual social media accounts.

Jamil Maqsood, has requested the international community and diplomatic corps in Islamabad to use their influence so that peaceful activists may live and call peaceful protests for the revival of fundamental and basic human rights in the region.

Using blasphemy laws by the disgruntled elements must be discouraged and all civil and political rights must respected.
