Questions of cooperation between Georgia and the European Union were discussed on Friday at a meeting of the EU Integration Commission of Georgia, led by the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

Members of the Commission reviewed the report of the 2022 national action plan for the country’s integration in the bloc, and the current status of the implementation of the conditions for receiving the EU membership candidate status, the Government Administration said.

The Commission also gave a “high evaluation” to the process of the implementation of the 2014-signed Association Agreement with the EU in both sectoral and legislative directions.

The officials also received information about the progress of the implementation of the free trade agreement with the European Union, and “positively assessed” the efforts of the Government to “fully use” opportunities of the deal.

Garibashvili thanked all state agencies for their “active involvement” and “fruitful work” in the process of fulfilling the EU conditions for obtaining the candidate status.
