Slavyansk Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Region Hit by Ukrainian Drone Attack

On Saturday morning, local authorities reported damage to the Slavyansk oil refinery located in Russia’s Krasnodar region, purportedly caused by a drone attack originating from Ukraine.

Roman Siniagovskyi, the head of the Slavyansk administrative district, conveyed that a total of nine attacks targeted the tank farm and distillation column, as communicated via Telegram.

Siniagovskyi clarified that while the tank farm remained unharmed due to the implementation of an organised protection system, the distillation column incurred damage.

Prompt action from responsible services facilitated the elimination of ensuing fires, with local emergency services confirming the outbreak and subsequent extinguishing of a fire in a limited area within the refinery premises.

In response to the reported incidents, Russia’s Defence Ministry announced on Saturday that its air defence units had intercepted and neutralized 66 Ukrainian drones over the territory of the Krasnodar region, with an additional two drones intercepted over the Crimean peninsula.

The events surrounding the Slavyansk oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region unfolded on Saturday, prompting a response from local authorities and the Defence Ministry.

Collaborative efforts from various responsible services facilitated the containment and extinguishing of ensuing fires, with local emergency services confirming the occurrence and subsequent mitigation of a fire within the refinery’s premises.

In parallel, Russia’s Defence Ministry issued a statement disclosing the interception and destruction of a significant number of Ukrainian drones.

The Slavyansk oil refinery, situated in Russia’s Krasnodar region, experienced a series of drone attacks resulting in damage to its infrastructure, as confirmed by local authorities on Saturday.

Concurrently, Russia’s Defence Ministry announced its interception and elimination of Ukrainian drones over the affected regions.

The Ministry reported the neutralisation of 66 drones over the Krasnodar region and an additional two drones intercepted over the Crimean peninsula.
