Ukrainian forces reportedly executed Ukrainian missile strikes against a Russian air defence base located in occupied Crimea, and drone strikes targeting Russian energy infrastructure within Russian territory.
According to Astra, a Russian opposition news outlet citing a source in the Crimean occupation Ministry of Emergency Services, the strikes targeted the Russian air defence base of the 3rd Radio Engineering Regiment, situated on Mount Ai-Petri in occupied Crimea, on May 13th.
It is suggested that Storm Shadow missiles were likely employed in the attack.
The strike purportedly resulted in casualties among Russian personnel, including the probable demise of the commander of the 3rd Radio Engineering Regiment.
Confirmation of the Mount Ai-Petri strike was reported by Ukrainska Pravda on the same day, citing a source within the Ukrainian military.
In response, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that Russian forces intercepted four Storm Shadow missiles and seven drones over Crimea.
Additionally, Suspilne, a Ukrainian outlet, reported on May 13th that sources within Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) asserted that the SBU conducted a drone strike targeting the Oskolneftesnabzheniye oil depot near Stary Oskol, Belgorod Oblast, and the Yeletskaya electrical substation in Lipetsk Oblast.
These targets included infrastructure critical to Russian Railways, such as the Stanovaya oil pumping station, and interconnected power systems spanning Lipetsk, Oryol, and Bryansk oblasts.
Lipetsk Oblast Governor Igor Artamonov confirmed the occurrence of drone activity in Lipetsk Oblast and indicated that an electrical substation experienced a fire, presumably caused by one of the Ukrainian drones.
