Just 12 months since our first adventure abroad as a Team, GB Jujitsu Youth have triumphed this weekend at the Flanders International Open in Antwerp, Belgium, writes Steve Sadden, Head of Club Relations, GB Jujitsu Youth Team.

We topped the medal table with a staggering 17 Golds, 32 Silvers and 28 Bronze medals, coming out top out of countries competing.

This is a massive milestone for GBJujitsu, adding this to Megan Thyers personal World Champion win a few months ago, we are now starting to be recognised as up and coming serious contenders on the international Youth stage.

GB Jujitsu Youth

Well done to all our young athletes all of you were magnificent both in your performances and in how you presented yourselves. The event organisers commented to me after the event that the fighters and coaches of the GB group were very polite and very respectful which is great to hear.

Massive thank you to all our mat coaches who were absolutely tireless and non stop for 2 full days, and to our support staff who helped throughout the weekend, we cant do this without you.

Our GB Youth Supporters Group made some huge noise backing all our athletes to the hilt , folks you were brillant company.

Thank you to our Youth chief organiser Kath Thyer, and our Safeguarding Officer Laura Miller for doing what you do so brilliantly making things run so smoothly, which helps us concentrate on the sport itself.

Finally a massive thank you to all our young athletes who took part, you were and are, all brilliant individuals, great fighters, and when you come together as a team it is something else. Wow ! What an experience you give us……and you are only going to get better !!!!
