According to recent assessments by British officials, the toll of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has been substantial for Russian military forces.

Estimates suggest that approximately 450,000 Russian military personnel have been either killed or wounded since the conflict escalated, with tens of thousands more reportedly deserting their posts.

The figures, disclosed by Leo Docherty, Minister of State and Minister for the Armed Forces, shed light on the significant human and material costs incurred by Russia in the conflict.

These estimates come in response to inquiries raised by John Healey MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, regarding the impact of the conflict on Russian armed forces and private military companies (PMCs) deployed in Ukraine.

In his response to the queries, Docherty outlined the scale of casualties and losses suffered by Russian forces.

The toll includes not only military personnel but also a substantial number of armoured vehicles, aircraft, naval vessels, and artillery systems.

Specifically, the estimate indicates that over 10,000 Russian armoured vehicles have been destroyed, including nearly 3,000 main battle tanks.

Additionally, the destruction extends to 109 fixed-wing aircraft, 136 helicopters, 346 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and 23 naval vessels across various classes.

Moreover, over 1,500 artillery systems of various types have been either destroyed, abandoned, or captured by Ukrainian forces.
