Brussels-based NGO Promote Ukraine on Wednesday April 12th opened a pop-up exhibition:‘State of Defiance’, dedicated to the Yellow Ribbon civil resistance movement that unites thousands of Ukrainians currently living in occupied regions.

The exhibition tells the story of an underground resistance movement, operating under the regime of terror which Russia is using to brutally suppress any pro-Ukrainian stances.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union Vsevolod Chentsov, President of the European Economic and Social Committee Christa Schweng, Member of the European Parliament Petras Auštrevičius, himself vocal critic of the Putin regime who has, since 2015, been on a “blacklist” of prominent persons who are banned from entering Russia. Member of the Belgian Parliament Georges Dallemagne, founder and head of Promote Ukraine Marta Barandiy and others were also in attendance.
