Tottenham Hotspur had two players sent off, they ended the game with only four of their starting XI still on the pitch, there were five disallowed goals, 11 significant Var checks, 21 minutes of added time in all, six yellow cards – including one for manager Ange Postecoglou…..

It all started so well when Dejan Kulusevski’s deflected shot put Spurs ahead after six minutes but it went into reverse at alarming speed from the moment Romero returned to his reckless ways.
